This report by Just Yorkshire and the Centre for Race, Education and Decoloniality at Leeds Beckett University on the negative impact of the Prevent strategy was among the first to present “a progressive alternative”.
Released in October 2017, the report offers an accessible and evidence-based insight into how Muslim communities in the north of the UK primarily experience and resist Prevent and its harms.
We hear from 36 individuals, a large proportion of whom are from Yorkshire, including young Muslims, professionals who have worked with Prevent, academics, teachers, faith leaders, race-equality practitioners and charity experts.
