Each year thousands of people are referred to Prevent. Prevent Watch provides a FREE help line and support services for people who have experienced such referrals or have been impacted by Prevent in some way.

To date we have supported nearly 600 individuals. Each individual case is unique and so the support provided is tailored depending on their individual needs.

She came back to work wearing a hijab.
She was eventually referred to Channel, leading to intrusive questioning and claims that she had mental health problems.
She was subsequently cleared twice by two independent experts.
She sought legal redress against her employers and the police.

Teacher

Teacher suspended based on political views, espoused on a private forum.
These views are a part of the normative discourse of academia and politics such as “who is considered a terrorist.”
The teacher was suspended and investigated.
This led to psychological problems for the teacher and his family because of the stress of the investigation.
Teacher was reinstated after investigations found no wrongdoing.
